This season’s tenugui print follows last season’s well-received design. Traditionally, tenugui (Japanese hand towels) are associated with “washing and wiping” and have served both practical and symbolic purposes since ancient times. In contrast, denim culture often embraces the notion that “not washing denim is a form of beauty.” This tenugui, meant to be washed and used daily, overlaps with that philosophy, questioning and reinterpreting denim culture through its design.
